PIA BRAMLEY

Tijdens deze avond zal Engels gesproken worden:

!! As this evening is already over, there are no more tickets on sale for the live event. Exceptionally, we are now selling tickets to still watch the recording for people who missed this fantastic lecture. The recording will be sent to you via a link within a day of purchasing your ticket. The link can be viewed until Sunday 14 May. !!

Join us for an evening with prolific artist, illustrator and printmaker Pia Bramley as she talks with us about making stories out of drawings, fitting drawing into daily life and daily life into drawing. Pia will speak about working from observation, imagination, memory and desperation. She will share how she uses drawing to record, understand and shape her own story, and in particular the making of her honest, witty and tenderly illustrated account of new motherhood in lockdown, Pandemic Baby (Icon Books, 2021).

Pia Bramley is an artist, illustrator and printmaker. After studying illustration at Brighton University she completed The Drawing Year at The Royal Drawing School in London, UK.
Her work has been commissioned by The New York Times and The Sunday Times. Her first book Pandemic Baby was published in 2021, and described as ‘a reminder of all the angst, the strangeness, the minor griefs, but – most importantly – of the magic’ (Jennie Agg) and ‘intimate, lonely and celebratory all at once […] simply, a gem […] true loveliness on every single page’ (Lizzy Stewart).
Pia’s drawings are held in the collection of The Cartoon Museum. After a decade in London she now lives and works in The New Forest.

As usual, there will be plenty of time for Q&A after the talk. We would love to hear from you!

/// Please note: All ticket buyers will be sent access to a full recording of the talk and Q&A, which will be available for five days after the event.
