Enne Koens (b. 1974) writes drama, prose and songs. She gained particular fame with her children’s novels Sammie en opaa (awarded a Vlag en Wimpel by the Griffeljury), Hotel Bonbien (nominated for the Flemish Book Lion, second prize Flemish Children’s Jury) and Ik ben Vincent en ik ben niet bang. Her work has been translated into 7 languages. Recently she received the bronze Griffel for From here you can see the whole world. She writes for all ages, but mostly for the 8-12 age group and always in collaboration with an illustrator. Originally, she is a playwright. She has written for theater group Ausdauer, ISH, Maas theater and dance and De Toneelmakerij, among others. In addition to writing, Enne teaches and coaches writers, scholars and children of all ages. She works as a presentation coach developing speeches, she taught at HKU, Writer’s School, Buitenkunst and has her own online writing cafe on Friday mornings.
